Earlier I mentioned that in order to Dance the Canasta Tango, instead of the dreaded Dutch Waltz during my up-coming competition début, I had to pass ISI's Ice Dance level 3 by the 15th of March. I did so and yesterday Madame Skating Director fished around in her cigar box full of various awards and pulled out my badge:
Nice badge! I sort of like the two-tone leg look, but you're right that probably black is best. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo! Hopefully there's more badges in my future. I don't know about the two-tone thing. Kinda reminds me of cars from the 1950s--oversized monsters in gaudy colors with lots of chrome but little content. They made smaller, simpler cars like MGs seem so appealing. Less (sometimes) really is more...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations George! You did it in time as she promised. The harlequin legs are indeed weird. 50's? I had a two-toned Crown Vic that was a lot more recent than that. My theory was that it was a lot cheaper because it was ugly (it was used, of course, and thanks to my dad for helping me buy it in a pinch). I'd take a vintage MG anyday, against stiffer competition than just ugly cars. Good luck on that upcoming competition-- have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! That badge was a long time coming. I need to swap out the fuel pump on my Bugeye Sprite now that the weather's turning the corner. It's refrigerator white but the color suits the little car.
